The Eastport Pinky

Post  wolfgang53 on Sat Feb 18, 2012 4:07 am

The Pinky design was developed on the coast of Maine. The high extended stern was intended to prevent "being pooped" by a following sea. The model is about 3 inches long made of basswood and bamboo. It is made from scratch, "roughly" from plans per Howard Chapelle. The following photos are of the steps preceding the photos posted on the home page.

I've also included a few of my current work in progress, the topsail schooner "Eagle" from around 1847.

The paintwork is still a little rough, but I have plans and a new magnifier.

Thanks,
Keith
