Basic Planking Tutorial - HMS Victory Launch
This tutorial is based on part of the build of the 34' launch which comes with the DeAgostini HMS Victory partwork.
Hopefully it will give beginners an insight into how the planking should be done. The main thing to emphasise is that very few planks ever have parallel sides because you are trying to create three-dimensional curved surfaces from a shape which is essentially two-dimensional, ignoring the thickness. So in order that the planks fit together without trying to ride up over each other, it is important to individually shape each plank to fit.
